DARK Gel Polish: Main Collection
The main collection of DARK gel polishes starts at shade 001 and includes more than 190 colors, from nudes and milky pastels to deep reds, burgundies and seasonal trend shades. Every gel polish is available in 6 ml, ideal for testing a new color, and 10 ml for everyday salon work. The dense pigment gives even coverage in the first coat, which matters most with nude and pastel shades, where every streak shows. The balanced consistency stays in place and does not flood the cuticle area, even on short nails or wide nail plates. With proper nail prep and a compatible base, the manicure lasts 3–4 weeks without fading.
Cat Eye, Flash and Vitrage
- DARK Cat Eye contains magnetic particles that align under a magnet into a light-reflecting line. With more than 40 shades, it can be used on its own or layered over a base color, so one bottle gives many combinations.
- DARK Flash is a gel polish with reflective microglitter of uniform size. It spreads evenly with a standard brush, with no clumps or bare patches after curing.
- DARK Vitrage is a semi-transparent, stained-glass effect. It works as a color filter over a colored base: the same Vitrage shade looks completely different over pink than over navy.
DARK Scotch Base: The Foundation for Long Wear
DARK Scotch Base is one of the most popular products in the whole DARK range. It is a medium-acidity undercoat that creates a strong bond between the natural nail and the next layer: camouflage bases, low-acidity bases, builder gels or gel tip extensions. Scotch Base is applied in one thin layer and is not intended for leveling. For that, apply a camouflage or rubber base over it. It is available in several sizes, including a handy 6 ml bottle for trying it out.
How to use DARK Scotch Base:
- Prepare and buff the nail, then apply a dehydrator and an acid-free primer.
- Apply a thin layer of Scotch Base and cure for 60 seconds.
- Continue with a camouflage base, gel polish or nail strengthening. Remove the sticky layer before strengthening.
- Finish with a top coat and cure for 90 seconds.
DARK Bases and Top Coats
DARK leveling bases have a flexible rubber formula and level themselves on the nail plate. Choose a clear base for classic manicures, Pro Base Camouflage for evening out the nail tone in nude and French designs, Pro Base Color when the base should replace the color layer, or Opal, Shine and Potal bases for effect finishes. Practical Tips from Our Team
- For clients whose manicure lifts early, use Scotch Base as a thin undercoat under your leveling base. Never apply it in a thick layer: medium-acidity bases are made for thin undercoats only.
- For Vitrage, always apply a colored base first. On a bare nail the effect almost disappears.
- For Cat Eye, work in thin layers and apply the magnet to each uncured layer separately for a sharper line.
- For pale nudes and milky shades, apply the first coat very thin so the lamp cures it fully.
- If you are just starting, build your first DARK set from Scotch Base, one leveling base, a no-wipe top and 5–10 shades in 6 ml.
