Cuticle Oils
Cuticle oils soften and nourish the cuticle and the skin around the nail, and help keep it supple between manicures. Choose fast-absorbing dry oils or richer classic oils, in fruity and sweet scents and in sizes from handy minis to 30 ml salon bottles.
Cuticle Oils for Soft, Cared-For Cuticles
A dry cuticle cracks and forms hangnails, and even a fresh manicure then looks neglected. Oil applied at the end of the treatment and regularly at home keeps the cuticle and side folds supple. The oils in this collection differ mainly in texture, applicator, finish and scent.
Dry or Classic Oil
- Dry oils absorb quickly without a greasy film, so you can carry on with your day straight after the manicure.
- Classic oils stay on the skin longer and suit evening care of very dry cuticles. LUNAmoon classic oils contain essential oils.
Applicator: Brush, Pipette or Dispenser
- Brush: spreads the oil easily along the cuticle line (LUNAmoon Photoshop).
- Pipette: a precise drop per nail with hygienic dosing (STALEKS PRO Treat.S).
- Dispenser: doses the oil straight from the bottle (DNKa').
For Photos: Shimmer or No Shine
The two "Photoshop" oils work in opposite ways. DARK Photoshop dry oil adds a subtle shimmer to the cuticle area as a finishing touch for photos and videos of your work. LUNAmoon Photoshop dry oil leaves no greasy film or shine on the skin at all.
Scents and Sizes
Choose from fruity scents (strawberry, melon, peach, grape, lemon, orange, grapefruit), sweet ones (vanilla, bubble gum, cream soda) or DARK's blend of apple, musk and white flowers. Sizes range from 3 ml minis to 30 ml bottles.

Where Oil Fits in the Manicure
Oil is always the very last step, after the top coat has been cured (and wiped, if needed). To soften the cuticle before the manicure, use a cuticle remover. For dry skin on the whole hand, see our hand and foot care.
Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I use cuticle oil?
At the end of every manicure and ideally once or twice a day at home. Regular use matters more than the amount.
Will cuticle oil damage my gel polish?
No. Cuticle oils are made for care after a gel polish manicure. Applied on the finished, cured coating, they keep the skin around it supple and help the manicure look well-groomed for longer.
Should I apply oil before the base coat?
No. Oil on the nail plate weakens the adhesion of the base coat. Use it only after the manicure is finished.
Can cuticle oil help with dry, cracked cuticles?
Yes. With regular use it softens dry skin and helps prevent cracks and hangnails. It is a cosmetic product, though: for wounds or inflammation that do not heal, see a doctor.
Why choose a pipette or dispenser bottle?
You dose the oil without the applicator touching the skin, which keeps the bottle hygienic when you use it on many people.
