DARK Gel Polish – Professional Gel Colors with High Pigmentation
DARK gel polishes are richly pigmented professional gel colors with a carefully curated palette of more than 190 shades, selected with the everyday work of nail technicians in mind. This collection brings together the complete DARK gel polish range: the main color collection and the Cat Eye, Flash and Vitrage effect lines, each in 6 ml and 10 ml bottles. For bases, builder gels and the rest of the system, visit the main DARK collection.
What Makes DARK Gel Polish Different
- Full coverage in 1–2 thin coats. The high pigment load means you do not need to build thickness to hide the nail, even with nudes and pastels.
- Medium consistency. Not too runny, not too thick, so the coating stays thin and the nail keeps a natural shape.
- Precise work at the cuticle. The polish does not run, so you can work close to the cuticle and side walls, even on short nails or wide nail plates.
- Self-leveling. Brush marks disappear on their own before curing.
- Fast curing. Each layer cures in 60 seconds in an LED or UV/LED lamp.
- Color that lasts. No fading and high chip resistance for up to 4 weeks of wear.
Choosing Your Line
The main collection covers every everyday request, from understated nudes to bold reds. Cat Eye creates a magnetic light-reflecting line, Flash adds even microglitter without nail art tools, and Vitrage works as a semi-transparent color filter over a colored base. Choose 6 ml for trend and seasonal shades or for testing a color, and 10 ml for the colors your clients ask for every week.
The DARK System: Application Step by Step
DARK gel polish performs best as part of a complete DARK system:
- Perform the manicure, buff and thoroughly degrease the nail. Apply dehydrator and Ultrabond.
- Apply a thin layer of transparent DARK Scotch Base or another medium-acidity base for adhesion. Keep this layer thin.
- Apply a thin or leveling layer of DARK Pro Base or a hard gel base and cure.
- Apply DARK gel polish in 1–2 thin layers, curing each layer for 60 seconds in an LED or UV/LED lamp.
- Finish with a DARK top coat and cure for 90 seconds.
- Apply cuticle oil to moisturize the skin around the nail.
You will find Scotch Base, clear bases, liquids and cuticle oils in DARK Tools & Accessories.
Composition and Safety
DARK gel polish is based on methacrylates (Di-HEMA Trimethylhexyl Dicarbamate, HEMA and Hydroxypropyl Methacrylate) with Hydroxycyclohexyl Phenyl Ketone as the photoinitiator, so the formula is TPO-free. Because it contains HEMA, it is intended for professional use only: avoid contact with the skin and stop use if irritation occurs. The products are notified in the EU CPNP database.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many coats of DARK gel polish do I need?
Usually one to two thin coats. Most shades give full coverage already in the first layer.
How long should I cure DARK gel polish?
60 seconds per layer in an LED or UV/LED lamp.
Why use Scotch Base under DARK gel polish?
A thin medium-acidity undercoat gives strong adhesion to the natural nail, so the leveling base and color stay on for the full wear period.
Does DARK gel polish contain HEMA?
Yes. That is why it is for professional use only and should not come into contact with the skin. The formula does not contain TPO.
How should I store DARK gel polish?
Tightly closed in a dry place at +5 °C to +25 °C, away from direct sunlight. After opening, use within 18 months.
Do you ship DARK gel polish across the EU?
