Cat Eye Gel Polish – Magnetic Effect for Salon and Home Manicures

Cat eye gel polish contains ultra-fine magnetic particles that move when you hold a magnet over the uncured coat. Depending on the magnet's shape, angle and distance, you get a narrow, bright stripe, a wide soft shine or a floating 3D effect. It cures under a UV/LED lamp like any gel polish and lasts for weeks without fading. It's easy to work with in the salon and at home.

Cat Eye Gel Polish by Brand

  • DARK gel polishes – classic cat eye shades plus deep night and holographic cat eye effects, in 6 and 10 ml bottles.

How to Apply Cat Eye Gel Polish

  1. Prepare the nail and apply a base coat, then cure it.
  2. Apply a thin coat of cat eye gel polish.
  3. Hold a magnet 1–2 mm above the uncured coat for 5–10 seconds and cure right away, before the particles spread.
  4. Apply a second thin coat for full coverage, repeat the magnet step and cure.
  5. Seal with a top coat. A glossy top boosts the depth of the effect.

Base, Top Coat and Lamp

Cat eye gel polish works over any base coat or color base. A dark base makes the light line look deeper, and a light or clear base gives a softer, pearly result. For even curing, use a suitable UV/LED nail lamp.

Do I need a special magnet for cat eye gel polish?

Any cat eye nail magnet works. Different magnet shapes create different patterns, from a straight line to a diagonal, a star or a soft glow.

Why did the cat eye effect disappear before curing?

The particles start to spread as soon as you remove the magnet. Put the nail in the lamp within a few seconds after using the magnet.

How many coats of cat eye gel polish do I need?

Usually two thin coats, each shaped with the magnet and cured. Thin coats keep the effect sharp and cure evenly.

Can I use cat eye gel polish at home?
